HomePlug – In 2006, Yitran’s DCSK technology was selected as the baseline technology for the HomePlug Command and Control standard, following a bake-off including nine other companies from around the world. In an outdoor environment, IT900s signal can run for a kilometer on LV lines and several kilometers under ideal power line conditions (i.e. mid-voltage).
It is important to select the technology according to the application. Low speed PLC has a longer signal range and is more reliable for control networks including in home connectivity. Low speed also requires less power, making the solution cost less expensive as well as more energy efficient.
